Solo Contest Success at Camborne

A successful day was had by all at the Camborne Youth Band’s Solo and Quartet Contest on Saturday
11th January. Adjudicator, Brett Baker, was impressed by the standard of playing in the 68 performances of the day.

The following day Brett held master classes, both for experienced players and those new to the trombone, which were enjoyed by all who attended. The weekend came to a close with a concert by Brett and the Camborne Youth Band to a full audience at the Penventon Park Hotel.

One email of thanks from a lady from Devon, who travelled down for the master class stated: “My husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed the evening concert and found the young members of the band quite magnificent. And as for Brett Baker’s performance, what can one say, it was enthralling”. Below are the results of the solo contest.
