Camborne Youth Band has been 'branching out' into the world of horticulture in order to raise funds for their forthcoming appearance at the Third Section National Finals in Cheltenham later this year.
The band worked alongside Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winning sponsor Burncoose Nurseries to produce an exhibit at the Royal Cornwall Show inspired by the 2015 Area set-work, 'Evolution - Five States of Change' by Philip Sparke.
With a little help from Philip himself, who made suggestions on how to represent the Evolution cycle, the exhibit won a highly deserved Silver Prize, much to the composer's delight!
"That's wonderful. Can you send me a photo?" he said, after what must be a musical first for even him.
