Camborne Youth Band enjoyed a "field trip" to Zennor on Sunday 7th February, in preparation for the forthcoming Areas at Torquay where they will be performing Philip Harper's "The Mermaid of Zennor", competing (as Camborne Junior Contesting Band) in the Second Section. Over 30 band members and supporters took part in a sponsored walk around Zennor and along the coast. Despite wintry weather and rocky terrain the band rose to the challenge, saw the Mermaid's Cove at Pendour and got back all in one piece, in time (just!) to give their concert in Zennor Church. This was followed by a tasty and much-deserved lunch in the Tinners' Arms.
