Camborne Youth Band Solo & Quartet Contest 2015

The annual Camborne Youth Band Solo and Quartet Contest will be taking place on Saturday 10th January at Camborne Science & International Academy. With the draw at 09.30, the contest will commence at 10.00 and will be adjudicated by euphonium virtuoso, David Childs; one of the band's Musical Advisors and Principal Euphonium of the Flowers Band. The official accompanist for the day is Philip Davey and the list of classes to enter can be seen below.

Class 1 - Novice Solo
For any age (inexperienced), first time playing at a solo contest - Slow melody (no more than 4 mins

Class 2 - Solo
10 years and under - Slow melody (no more than 5 mins)

Class 3 - Solo

14 years and under - Slow melody (no more than 5 mins)

Class 4 - Solo
18 years and under - Slow melody (no more than 6 mins)

Class 5 - Solo
16 years and under - Anything other than Slow melody (no more than 7 mins)

Class 6 - Duet
16 years and under - Own choice (no more than 6 mins)

Class 7 - Quartet
16 years and under - Own choice (no more than 10 mins)

Class 8 - Open Solo
Any age - Slow melody (no more than 7 mins)

Class 9 - Open Solo
Any age - Aire Varie/Florid (no more than 9 mins)

Class 10 - Open Duet
Any age - Own choice (no more than 8 mins)

Class 11 - Open Quartet
Any age - Own choice (no more than 10 mins)

Class 12 - Anything Goes!
Any age - Own choice~ solo/duet/quartet etc that doesn’t fit in to any other class!
